I moved into my house 8 years ago. The yard was just grass with a couple of trees. Over the years the garden went from a couple of small planting beds to huge swaths. This year is the first year that it actually seems to be pulling together. I'm so excited about it I decided to post some pictures.

Doesn't it feel great when all your hard work pays off in such a beautiful display?
I love all the gallardia I see in the background. I can't seem to grow that one.
Zoey, I started some gaillardia from seed for one of my first beds. It has been moving around my garden ever since. It is EVERYWHERE!! Mine seem to defy the books on their likes and care. It seems to do better in the richer soil in my garden and is also thriving in our compact soil. It does prefer FULL SUN and has "moved" to places where it can get that.
I love your photos the gardens look great. This year I too feel that the back gardens have all come together for me.
Sylvana, these look like pictures from a gardening magazine. Just gorgeous!
Just beautiful! This really does look like something from a magazine, as sabine said.
Your garden is incredible. Looks way better than mine which I've been working on for over a decade. Okay, I really didn't do much for the first ten years! But I'm doing better now. I've been inspired by beautiful gardens like yours.
Looks beautiful!
Love the colors! Love the field of daisies! You must have the nicest bouquets of picked garden flowers!
Well it turned out great after eight years.lovely pictures by the way.It has been beautifully planted like a cottage garden from the old times.I love daisys!!
Crazygramma, it is so much so looking like a real garden that my husband has taken to spending a lot of time in it weeding and watering!
Sabine and Sierrabella, you are both too kind. Thanks!
OldRoses, blogging has been a great kick-in-the-butt for me. I see all the lovely things that other people are doing and figure that I should get going already!
Lisa, Thanks!
Nature Girl, you know it is funny, I rarely cut flowers to bring in the house. I only do that if something falls over.
Snappy, "cottage garden" is really what I am going for. I want my garden to look like I am working in concert with nature. Besides, if you let plants pick where they want to grow, you have a much easier time of it!
