Things are finally starting to die down around here on the home front: some of the hubbub in the state has quieted, my son is out of school, our exchange student is going home, the graduation party is over, our dog is recovering from surgery nicely...
And now it is TOO HOT TO GARDEN!! Bleh!

It hasn't been a good gardening year here either. The month of May was nothing but rain and now temperatures way above normal. I haven't put a plant in the ground yet. In fact just finished tilling the big vegetable garden yesterday and now it is raining.
I have been looking for someone else that gardens in zone 4. Do you do vegetables also or just flowers?
Wilderness, not that I'm glad that you are having problems, but it is nice to know that I am not the only one!
I have a vegetable garden with seven raised beds. I grow everything from lettuce to pumpkins and arugula to edamame. I even can, dehydrate, and freeze. The last few years I have been adding some perennial produce like raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, leeks -- even garlic is proving to be quite the perennial!
Hopefully I will be able to post regularly this growing season. It feels like it is going to be a weird one.
